This Letter From Santa for Kids with Food Allergies is the Best Thing Ever

The lovely folks over at Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) have once again come up with a way for kids with food restrictions to feel not only included, but special. These are the same people who started the Teal Pumpkin Project to help make Halloween more inclusive for kids with food allergies.

 This time, they've got an adorable letter from Santa that you can personalize and download for the child in your life who has food allergies. In our case, it's for our gluten free little boy. The letter acknowledges the child's food restriction(s), and then mentions  that some of Santa's elves have the same ones. He encourages the child to leave out treats without those foods that he can take back to his special elves.

People who don't have kids with food restrictions might not understand, but this small way of acknowledging their restrictions and then ASKING FOR THEIR HELP to make Christmas special for the elves is incredible. We always leave out gluten free cookies for Santa anyway, but it never occurred to me to make it a special treat for Santa or his elves. Great idea!
