Where I've Been: A Blog Update

Hanging out in Nice, France
I've been neglecting you, my readers, for a few weeks now and I feel terrible about it. So what's the deal? Where have I gone?

I'm currently on a six week "vacation" in France, scoping out where I hope to live with my family for the next year. We've been traveling from city to city, mostly in the South of France, to get a feel for each location.

Every few days is a new local, and while it's been a lot of fun, it hasn't left a lot of time for writing. In fact, I have pretty much declined any new freelance work, and struggled to get caught up on outstanding assignments.

We've been to Nice, Monaco (just for fun, not to live!), Menton, Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, Avignon, and we're currently in Montpellier.

The past few months have been a whirlwind, and this year has seen me blog the least since this site was started back in 2010. The house sale, the move, the travel and all the logistics that go with it have made it hard to find time to sit down and write.

I miss it. I miss you! I miss the interaction that comes along with reading blogs and writing my own blog. The interesting articles, the debates, the support.

That doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about you! I have a notebook full of blog post ideas and information, and a pretty good grasp on what my writing schedule will look like moving forward. I also have a new writing project that I'm just getting organized, which is also taking up some time.

So please, bear with me and be patient. The blog will be back on track and better than ever before you know it. I've got travel tips and information, recipes, and more on the way.

Love you, miss you, thank you for your patience!

P.S. Although I'm not currently blogging as frequently as usual, I am posting photos and info about our journey on social media. If you haven't already, follow along on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook to keep caught up on where we've been and where we're going!

A great big hello from my family to yours!
