Gluten Free at the Food Court? New York Fries Are Gluten Free

Eating at the mall is not something one should do too often, but the reality is that we all do it sometimes.  Finding a gluten free option can be difficult at the best of times, but the deep fried options that abound in a food court can be a minefield for cross-contamination, if there's even anything gluten free on the menu to begin with.

One of the few exceptions?  New York Fries.

The company website FAQ page states that the only thing fried in their fryers are the fries, in 100% non-hydrogenated sunflower oil.  A bit of salt after frying, and that's it.  They do have gluten in their sauces and condiments, so it's important to be aware of the chance of cross-contamination, so steer clear of the different flavours and enjoy their fries as they should be enjoyed- with a dash of salt, and a dip in some gluten free ketchup!

An every day meal idea?  Probably not a good idea.

An occasional indulgence?  Why not?

Just a tip- I always let the people behind the counter know about my son's restrictions when ordering, and ask all the appropriate questions.  Always check the company website for the most up-to-date information, as recipes change.
