A Christmas Dinner Menu in Progress

This week has been crazy busy.  Exams are due in at the end of the week, my son had his daycare concert, and the after school class I teach came to an end today.  Finishing the Christmas shopping, cards for colleagues and friends, and baking for the daycare have taken up most of my free time this week after work.

But I have finally put together a rough Christmas dinner menu, completely gluten free, and I thought I would share it in case there's anyone out there looking for a delicious gluten free menu for Christmas day.  This is still a work in progress, but I'm happy with what I've got so far.

Appetizers:
-cheese and gluten free crackers
-crispy polenta (cornmeal) triangles with goat's cheese, fig jam and prosciutto
-holiday spiced popcorn
-vegetables and dip

Main Course:
-Soup (still working on what type. Perhaps a simple broth based soup or a winter minestrone)
-Beef Roast with a Red Wine and Mushroom Gravy
-Boneless Turkey Breast Roast with Turkey Gravy
-Scalloped Potatoes with Sun Dried Tomatoes and Goat's Cheese Cheddar
-Cranberry Sauce
-Salad
-Another Green Vegetable (Sauteed Kale or Swiss Chard)

Dessert:
-I'm thinking of baking a cake, but I'm still not sure.
-fruit platter

I'm planning on doing the bulk of the cooking the day before, Christmas Eve morning before going to my parents' house for the evening.  The meat I'll cook the day of, and just reheat things for dinner.

I'll keep you updated and take plenty of pictures.

What are you eating on Christmas Day?
